E. John Wagner, II, a shareholder with Williams Parker, recently presented to the Association of Corporate Growth and the American Bar Association.
On October 5, Mr. Wagner participated as a panelist at the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Tampa Bay Chapter’s “Succession Planning I – Is Your Plan Really in Place?” program, which focused on options available to business owners looking to retire or sell their company, including how and when to exit the business and private equity alternatives to selling a business. The seminar took place at the Sarasota Yacht Club in Sarasota, Florida. and drew over 50 attendees from the area’s business community. ACG is a global member association for middle-market dealmakers and business leaders who invest in growth and build companies.
On October 2, Mr. Wagner moderated a panel discussion for the American Bar Association Section of Taxation meeting in Boston, Massachusetts. The panel evaluated structures by which a property owner could sell land to a real estate developer and receive back a finished condominium tax-free after the developer constructs a condominium building on the land.
Mr. Wagner is a board-certified tax attorney and chairs Williams Parker’s corporate and tax practices. He represents executives, entrepreneurs, and real estate investors in tax, transactional, capital raising, estate planning, and estate administration matters. He also serves as editor of The Williams Parker Business & Tax Blog. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida College of Law and Master of Laws in taxation from the University of Florida’s Graduate Tax Program.
